Who We Are

The Omeja Renegades Volleyball Club (ORVC) is a youth volleyball program operating in the Mankato/Central Minnesota Area. The Omeja Volleyball Club was founded in 2006 to address a need for non-school related volleyball opportunities. After many successful club season Omeja decided to expand its age divisions and joined forces with the Mankato Renegades Club in 2011. ORVC now offers multiple teams at age divisions 11 - 18 at the Elite, Power and Club level.

ORVC Philosophy

  • Primary focus on improving each player in the physical, strategic and mental aspects of the sport.
  • Encourage athletes to strive for excellence by making a commitment to mastering the challenges and physcial skills of the sport.
  • Emphasis placed on learning the skills of volleyball in developmentally appropriate progressions.
  • Provide players with a dedicated and professional coaching staff that teaches and trains all elements of the game.
  • Coaches demonstrate and model core values that encourage good sportsmanship, teamwork, accountablitiy, self-discipline and work ethic.

Our Mission

  • To provide an opportunity for athletes in the Mankato/Central Minnesota Area to learn and develop high-level volleyball skills outside their Elementary, Junior and High School seasons.
  • To recognize different developmental stages of the youth athlete through the offering of different team levels and playing seasons.
  • To teach, train and develop well-rounded players, teammates and persons 
  • To formulate competitive teams by bringing together players form different towns, schools and backgrounds.

ORVC Team Levels

Omeja Renegades offers 3 distinct playing levels to accommodate age and skill appropriate teaching progressions (Elite, Power and Club). We recognize varying experience levels and personal choice when choosing to participate on a team. Our goal is to provide an opportunity of partcipation for as many athletes as possible without sacrificing quality and content. Teams and levels are dictated by the availabilty of gym space and a competent coaching staff.

Elite Level

Teams at the Elite level train and compete at the highest level within the club. Players who participate are expected to make a strong commitment to both practice and competition. ORVC Elite teams compete in the Northern Lights Power League and prepare for large, competitive, national level tournaments. In most situations players at the Elite level are of the intermediate or advanced skill level and highly athletic.

Details:

  • Head Coach & Assistant Coach guaranteed
  • Season Length: Jan - April with possibility of attending National Tournament in July
  • Practice: minimum two practices per week (at least 4 hours of training)
  • Tournaments: at least 2 per month (majority in Twin Cities/Metro Area)
  • Competition Level: High
  • Cost: $675.00 (without National Qualifier)

Power Level

The Power level is designed to provide the same quality practice and training offered at the Elite level. The main difference lies in the competition schedule and tournaments entered. Power teams are not expected to participate in National Qualifiers and Northern Lights Power League. Instead they enter solid tournaments around the Mankato area.

Details:

  • Head Coach only (opportunity for assistant if available but not guaranteed)
  • Season Length: January - April
  • Practice: 1-2 per week based on gym availability, typically 4 hrs training/week
  • Tournaments: 2 per month, some minimal travel required
  •  Competition Level: Moderate
  • Cost: $550

Club Level

The Club level offers the same opportunity for quality instruction and coaching offered at both the Elite and Power level, but gives busy players an option for a shorter season. Teams at this level focus on the introduction of volleyball, its basic skills and are offered more equal playing time in competition than at the Elite and Power level.

  • Practices: 1-2 per week depending on gym availability
  • Tournaments: 2 per month, minimal travel required
  • Competetive Level: Beginner to Moderate
  • Cost: $375
